Peter Farago-Schauer, COUNSEL
Peter is a member of the patent department, the European patent department and the litigation department.
He has the know-how and experience needed to provide clients with advice and guidance on all the ins and outs of patent and design law, and he also has considerable experience in trademark matters.
He specializes in patenting strategy and IP portfolio management at national, European and worldwide level, and in drafting and filing patent applications before national Patent Offices and the European Patent Office, and in patent prosecution.
Peter's activity also includes freedom-to-operate, validity and patentability searches and infringement assessments for patents and designs.
He regularly assesses patent infringement allegations brought against clients in Germany, and assists clients in oppositions and in appeals both with the German Patent Office and the European Patent Office, as well as in infringement litigation at the specialist IP German courts in Munich, Düsseldorf and Mannheim.
Peter also assists clients in invalidity actions in Germany at the Federal Patent Court in Munich and the Federal High Court in Karlsruhe.
His clients are local and international companies in many technological sectors including telecommunications, information technology, software, hardware, artificial intelligence, medical devices and mechanical engineering.
Peter graduated from university with a thesis titled "Development of a microcomputer-controlled system for dynamic measurement of the pupillary area".

Carsten Koch, COUNSEL
Carsten combines a broad range of technical, economic and legal expertise with entrepreneurial experience. He has been actively involved in numerous prosecution and litigation proceedings from the very beginning of his career, gaining extensive national and international experience in patent grants, oppositions, infringement actions and interim injunctions in Germany and abroad. His clients are local and international companies in different technological sectors with a strong focus on SMEs.
His professional background includes earlier positions at Deutsche Bank and The Boston Consulting Group, as well as membership in Mensa e.V.
After working independently as a consultant, he earned his state exam with the best grade of his year group, became a partner at a patent law firm in 2008 and founded his own practice in 2013, which he lead into remarkable growth.
Carsten’s current focus lies in strategic IP design and portfolio management, including advisory work in complex scenarios such as mergers & acquisitions, due diligences, asset protection strategies, distressed situations and tax optimization. Originating from a civil engineering and mechanical engineering background, he now advises clients across multiple disciplines, regularly heading counseling teams with technically specialized patent attorneys.
Carsten is widely recognized for his creativity in legal structuring, his goal-oriented approach and his meticulous attention to detail. He is known for developing innovative, practical solutions in challenging situations where others see no way forward.
He studied Civil and Mechanical Engineering at RWTH Aachen University, where he holds a diploma at civil engineering and completed his dissertation on two-phase numerical modeling of hydrodynamic processes with highest honors. At Imperial College London, he earned the Imperial College International Diploma (ICID) after completing the M.Sc. Class in Civil and Environmental Engineering. His dissertation at Imperial focused on the economics of communication in project management.

Radadiana Taric - Koch, COUNSEL
Radadiana works principally on trademarks, but has broad expertise in all intellectual property law.
As a lawyer, she works closely with accredited patent attorneys in managing clients' IP rights portfolios in multiple jurisdictions. This includes drafting, filing and prosecuting patents before the German Patent and Trademark Office (GPTO) and the European Patent Office (EPO).
Radadiana also provides legal services relating to trademark and design law to local and international clients. Her practice focuses especially on pre-filing search analysis, negotiating consent, and anti-infringement activity.

Dr.-Ing. Peter Kitzenmaier,
PATENT ENGINEER
Peter started his career as an engineer of electronics and cybernetics at the Technical University of Munich. He became scientist in the field of biomedical engineering at the Technical University in Berlin, with specializations such as in myoelectrical control of artificial limbs and teaching.
In the industry Peter got deep technical and management skills in measurement devices and systems for preventive maintenance of biomedical equipment and data management software. He also got experience in R&D management of communication electronics and systems for the automotive industry. He has also been able to deepen his skills in finding agreements and making contracts.
In 2009 Peter became a partner of the SCHIEBER FARAGO patent law office, taking courses at the EPO regarding patent law and regulations.
Peter has a lot of experience in writing and prosecuting patent applications, starting with finding out the respective client’s substantial invention and writing the patent application accordingly. His deep engineering skills are often helpful to find, even in difficult situations, good arguments for a grant of the patent.
Peter's activity also includes freedom-to-operate, validity and patentability searches and infringement assessments for patents.
Peter is also known for being happy helping clients with regard to engineering questions and turning a sample into a serial product.
In all difficult legal questions, Peter works hand-in-hand together with his colleague Peter Farago.
